Village Community

A private, members-only online home for your neighbourhood, residents' group, or local community — a warm place to help each other out, share news, run events, and make decisions together.

Every kind of community, one platform

Village fits the way your group already works. The words, menus, and tools change to match — whether you're a neighbourhood, a club, a parish, a business, or a whānau. Your Village is hosted in New Zealand or Europe. Don't see your kind of group? We can set one up.

Village Membership

Professional associations and membership groups. A members-only home with a directory, news, and events.

Village Governance

Boards, committees, and advisory groups. Agendas, minutes, proposals, and clear votes.

Village Community

Neighbourhoods, residents' groups, and local communities. News, events, and helping each other out.

Village Family

Families staying close across the generations. Photos, stories, recipes, and a family tree.

Village Whānau

Whānau, hapū, and iwi, with te reo Māori throughout. Whakapapa, pūrākau, and tikanga.

Village Episcopal

Parishes and diocesan communities. Parish news, meetings, and the church calendar.

Village Small Business

Small businesses and co-ops. Customers, invoices, quotes, e-signatures, hiring, and time tracking.

Village Board

Boards and governance bodies. Proposals, minutes, and decisions kept as a clear, lasting record.

Village Carpool

Community carpooling for towns. Koha model — no platform fees, and it links up with nearby Villages.

Village Conservation

Conservation and environmental groups. Field notes, sightings, and coordinating volunteers.

Village Diaspora

Communities staying connected across borders. Heritage stories and keeping culture alive.

Village Clubs

Sports teams, hobby groups, and social clubs. Fixtures, match reports, and member coordination.

Village Alumni

School, university, and workplace alumni. Reunions, connections, and shared history.

Your kind of group

Don't see your kind of group? Tell us what you call things, and we'll set up a Village to match.

By invitation only.

What every Village includes

Every Village runs on the same platform. Only the words and menus change to suit your group.

Member directory

Profiles, search, and roles. Members choose what other members can see about them.

News and announcements

Post news with photos, comments, and reactions. Reach everyone by notification or email.

Discussion channels

Ongoing channels for different topics, with moderators. Private messages stay on your Village's own homeserver — no third-party messaging service carries them.

Events and RSVPs

A shared calendar with a month view and categories. Members RSVP, so you know who's coming.

Video calls

Meet by video, hosted on our own servers. Screen sharing and recording, with nothing shared with outside companies.

Voting and decisions

Run polls and votes — a simple choice, ranked choices, or just for a smaller group. Everyone can see the result.

Documents

Upload and organise files in folders, and search inside scanned ones. Edit documents together in the browser.

Email to members

Write and send email to your members from inside Village. Included — not a paid add-on.

Five languages

Everything works in English, German, French, Dutch, and te reo Māori — every label and button, not just the main text.

Link with other Villages

Two Villages can link up by mutual agreement, so members join in without a second account. Working today between New Zealand and Europe.

A built-in helper

A friendly assistant helps members find things and answer questions. It runs on our own servers, and it suggests — you decide.

Connect your other tools

A simple, secure way to link Village to the other tools your group already uses.

Records you can rely on

Important records — like decisions and polls — are signed the moment they're saved, so a later change shows. Minutes and other records are kept alongside. It all stays on servers your community controls.

Take everything with you

Leave whenever you like and take all your content with you, in open formats. No lock-in.

What makes Village different

Your data stays close to home

Your information is kept on servers in New Zealand or Europe, under laws that protect you and your members. You can also host it yourself.

No platform fees

You pay one simple price. If your community takes payments, they're handled by Airwallex and we take no cut.

You own everything

Your content is yours. Leave whenever you like and take it all with you, in open formats. No lock-in.

Built to be open

The pieces that shape your Village — the way it links to others and adapts its words to your group — run on servers you choose, in New Zealand or Europe. We're opening up the code over time.

Pricing

One simple price for your whole community. No per-person fees.

What we expect — and what you get

Every Village has at least one trained moderator. A built-in help assistant answers questions on the spot, and feedback gets sorted quickly. As the network grows, experienced communities help newer ones find their feet — the tuakana-teina way.
