Every answer is checked against your rules first
Every request is checked by the Guardians before an answer reaches a member. Those checks block made-up numbers and invented content. If a check ever fails, it won't block a genuine answer. And every check is logged, so it can be reviewed later.

Each kind of Village has its own assistant, trained for that community's words and way of working. An Anglican parish gets a different tone than a kura kaupapa whānau. Your community sets the values; the assistant matches your tone, never bending the facts.
On Our Own Computers
No third-party AI in the loop
The assistant runs on our own machine in Aotearoa, connected securely to the live site. It never calls a third-party AI. Any training happens on our own machine in New Zealand. Your data is never used to train an outside company's AI — and never used to train ours unless a member says yes.
People Decide, Not the AI
The assistant suggests; you choose
Village AI suggests, the member decides. You can see exactly what the assistant remembers about you, delete anything, and take back your consent — which wipes it everywhere, including anything trained from it. Nothing about you is used behind the scenes.

Airwallex (NZ) Limited handles billing. We removed the old overseas payment processor in April 2026. No overseas payment company ever touches a Village payment.
Email via ProtonMail Bridge
Swiss email, encrypted in transit
The emails Village sends go through ProtonMail. No big overseas email company touches your members' mail.
Companies owned overseas can be forced to hand your data to their own government. We keep them out of how your Village runs. If one ever ends up in the path, that's a bug — and we fix it.

Your Community, Your Rules
Every request is checked by the Tractatus Guardians before an answer reaches a member. Your community sets the values the assistant works within; the Guardians hold it to them. It all runs on our own computers — no overseas AI, and nothing about your community leaving our equipment.
