Village Assembly
A better way for your group to decide together.
A place where your members raise ideas, talk them through, and vote — with every view kept, not averaged away, and the result written down so no one can quietly change it later.
Good for: putting a real question to your members and hearing the argument out before you decide it.
Most groups decide at the top and announce it afterwards. An assembly puts the question to the members, keeps what they say in their own words, and hands you back the argument rather than a verdict.
It is more rational because the disagreement survives to the end. Where your members split, the split is recorded the way they put it and carried through to the result — never averaged into one number that makes a close, contested call look settled. Once your Village's signing is set up, the record is sealed and bound to a hash of its own contents, so if anyone alters it later, the change shows.
No software has a vote, and only the people in your group decide. In a rehearsal, software can voice a seat to test the argument; those seats are always labelled as synthetic. The software draws out the argument and keeps the record; the call belongs to the people who have to live with it. You are deciding against the argument, not against a summary of it.
When something big is at stake, most groups decide at the top and announce it. Village Assembly lets you do the harder, better thing: put the question to your members, let everyone be heard, and reach a decision your people helped shape — not one handed down and explained after the fact.
What it does
Four things a good group decision needs — and most tools drop at least one.
Everyone gets a say
Your members raise ideas and talk them through in their own words. Where people disagree, the disagreement is written down the way they put it and carried through — never averaged into a single number, never quietly dropped.
Your people decide
The software does the legwork — drawing out the argument, and showing where you agree and where you don't — then hands it back. The vote, and the call, are always yours.
A result you can trust
Every step is written down. Once your Village's signing is set up, the record is sealed, so what was decided can be checked later. If anyone tries to change it, the change shows — no one can quietly rewrite the outcome.
The right people in the room
Seats that belong to tangata whenua are held for tangata whenua, and software will not voice one in a rehearsal. Spotting those seats is still provisional, so the group can confirm or correct the roster.
