Village Governance API

The Governance API is an add-on to a Village. Every customer is a Village, and the records live there. There is no API-only plan.

Billed by My Digital Sovereignty Ltd via Airwallex; settlement available in your local currency.

Prices. The Governance API is an add-on to a Village subscription. Its prices are given on request and none is published.
Step 1 — required

Your Village subscription

Every governance-API customer is a Village, and your records live in your Village. So the starting point is a Village — one flat price per community, no per-person fees. These are the current Village rates; the governance add-on (Step 2) sits on top.

Step 2 — the add-on

Add the Governance API

A governance add-on that sits on top of your Village. Your system submits a proposed action and gets back a verdict — allow, gate (a person decides) or deny — with a signed receipt you can verify yourself. Today it runs only in a sandbox, and your own system must act on the verdict.

Your records, your jurisdiction

New Zealand · European Union

Your records are held in New Zealand or the European Union, never on a US-owned provider. The record is yours: it lives in your Village, and you can export it before, during and after any subscription. Receipts are signed with a key made for your Village. MDSL holds that key; you do not. Your content is never used to train any model. Billing runs through Airwallex (NZ), with no US payment rail.

Availability — sandbox by invitation

  • Now: the API documentation and client SDK come with sandbox access, so you can build your integration against the sandbox.
  • By invitation: sandbox access is issued by John Stroh as a one-time token tied to a single address. The enquiry form on this page is an enquiry only and creates no right to access. The sandbox is for building and testing an integration.
  • Production keys: come with the published terms and a data-processing agreement, both agreed before any production key is issued.
  • Anchoring on Midnight. Status: Built. The receipts the API issues can be gathered into a daily root, and the hash of our signed daily root can be recorded on Midnight's Preview test network, a federated shared ledger. Only hashes go on the ledger. Once a day is anchored, a call to the record's anchor-proof endpoint returns the proof. The offline checker reads it with the options --anchor-proof and --anchor-check.
  • What an anchor means: it shows that a value was recorded under a date key. It does not answer whether records are true or complete. It is an attestation by our service key. The verdict on a receipt never depends on Midnight, and a sandbox receipt keeps its sandbox label. Coverage is records held on our OVH servers. A receipt that is sealed late joins the next day's range.

The API is not yet generally available. Nothing on this page links to a live production system.

Questions

Can I buy the API on its own?

No. Every API customer is a Village, and your records live in that Village. You pay for a Village plus a governance add-on. There is no API-only plan.

Which currency am I billed in?

Village prices on this page are shown in seven currencies. Billing runs through Airwallex (NZ) in your local currency.

What counts as a verdict?

Each action you submit returns one verdict — allow, gate or deny — with a signed receipt.

Is the record court-defensible?

The record is signed and tamper-evident. We don't claim it is tamper-proof or court-proof — whether it meets a legal duty is a question for your lawyer. What you get is a strong, self-verifiable record, made at the time, of how a decision was reached.
