Village Assembly
Open an assembly run against a deliberation. The assembly rehearses the argument; your members deliberate and decide.
How the Village Assembly works: a step-by-step guide
Available per Village — your Village steward switches this on; it is not open by default.
Good for: getting the question right before you spend your members' time answering it.
A consultation built on a badly framed question produces a well-attended answer to the wrong thing. Framing a run means writing down what is being decided, who is asking, who may see it, and the standard the assembly will be judged against.
It is more evidence-based because the framing is fixed in writing before anyone argues. The mandate is recorded when the run is opened, and the standard it will be judged against is written once and cannot be rewritten later to fit the outcome. A framing you can go back and read is a framing you can be held to.
Opening a run records the mandate, and nothing else happens — nothing is simulated and nothing is proposed. That holds further in by design: what an assembly produces is a map of where the argument converged and where it split, and there is no field in it that could hold a recommendation. The question is yours to frame. The answer is your members' to give.
The assembly run binds to an existing deliberation in this community.
Opening a run captures the mandate only — no simulation is triggered yet.
