Distributors
Take Village™ and its products to a market we do not reach
Distributors bring Village and its products (AVA, MIO° Conduct Record, Attested Accounts and Provenance, with the Governance API as an add-on, and the Email Decision Record once we have our first paying subscriber) to a sector or region we do not serve directly: the market, the relationships and the framing that fits it. Village is live on paid subscription, and a sealed record can be checked by a third party offline, without an account. The platform, the infrastructure and the sovereignty commitments stay with My Digital Sovereignty. No distributor has yet been appointed, and the first arrangement is meant to be built with the first distributor. This page explains how a conversation starts.
What a distributor does
What a distributor does
- You are a cooperative partner, not only a carrier of product: you keep everything you charge for your own services, and you share in subscription revenue. You bring a market we do not reach: a professional sector, an industry body, a region or a diaspora, with the relationships and the sector-specific framing.
- You take Village and its products to that market under a written agreement, and go to market in your sector.
- You stay the trusted local channel, with onboarding and support shaped for the people you serve. Terms of supply are set in the written agreement.
What a distributor does not do
- You do not own the platform, the IP or members' records. The member always holds their own records, and portability is the trust anchor.
- You do not build or host anything. Sovereign infrastructure in NZ and the EU is run by My Digital Sovereignty.
- You do not tell customers that a sealed record is proof in law. How a record is treated in any proceeding is a legal question, and we do not advise on it.
Who this is for
This suits organisations and people with a real market we don't serve — a professional sector, an industry body, a region or a diaspora — who are values-aligned: member-held records over lock-in, sovereignty over surveillance, and no US-owned cloud holding member data. You bring the market and the relationships; we bring the substrate and the sovereignty commitments.
The distributor site has the fuller picture: the products, the markets we think suit a distributor, and how to choose yours.
A few things never change, whoever distributes: the member or tenant is the sovereign record-holder — not the distributor, and not us; tenant isolation and the no-US-cloud vendor rule bind anything shipped on Village; and Māori governance (kāhui, marae, iwi, rūnanga) stays with My Digital Sovereignty, by relationship, and is not part of any distributor's market.
How it works
- Conversation — we talk about your market, your relationships, and whether the values fit.
- Evaluation — access to a working sovereign artefact on a one-time link we issue for your market, so both sides see it real.
- Agreement — a written agreement, product by product. The platform gates what a distributor may do by accreditation level (Provisional, Accredited, Master); how a channel moves up is set in that agreement, and no agreement has been signed.
- Channel — you go to market in your sector or region; we keep running the substrate and the sovereignty governance.
There is no cost to express interest, and no commitment until both sides are sure. Nothing here is an offer, and entering a conversation grants no exclusivity or territory. An arrangement made now is with My Digital Sovereignty and may later pass to a company formed to take these products to market.
